Scientific Discovery for the Classroom

The Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) is an innovative science education program that introduces secondary school students to the excitement of scientific discovery. ABE provides secondary school teachers with the loan of research-grade equipment, supplies, curriculum, and professional development at no cost.

Within the United States, Southern California is a national leader in the life sciences industry, and Biocom Institute, a nonprofit organization and affiliate of Biocom, has served as an intermediary between the life sciences industry and the education system in San Diego for over a decade. The ABE San Diego program was developed to help increase awareness of the local life sciences industries to educators across the region that work with thousands of students every day in high school science classrooms across the region.
